292 lecturer job letters given to successful candidates
Senior Sindh Education and Literacy Minister Pir Mazharul Haq on Sunday distributed 292 lecturer job offer letters among successful candidates during a ceremony held here at the Sindh Madressatul Islam College (SMIC) auditorium.
Sindh Public Service Commission had recommended the candidates for these posts.
Addressing the ceremony, the education minister said that 829 lecturers had been recruited for various subjects across Sindh while 292 offer letters for lecturer job were being distributed today. He said that the government had selected teachers strictly on merit by following the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He said that 23 new degree colleges would be established in Sindh within short span of time, while they would recruit 14,000 new schoolteachers in different categories in which they would prefer local people.
“The education is the backbone of the nation, so we could not compromise on merit,” he said. He hailed the role of IBA Sukkur and also announced Rs 5 million donation for Cadet College Larkana.
Later, talking to media, the education minister said that corporation allowance would be given to teachers of urban and rural areas on equal basis. He further said that remote areas teachers would also be given difficulty allowance as well as pick and drop services.
Haq announced that female candidates were bounded for three years and male candidates were bounded for five years to perform their services at their parent institutions.
Earlier Sindh Education Secretary Muhammad Siddique Memon presented welcome note and elaborated that total 829 lecturers were appointed for various subjects. He said that 502 candidates out of 829 were male while others were female. He informed the audience that 127 had been lecturers appointed for English subjects, 104 for Mathematics, 75 for Physics, 91 for Botany and remaining for other subjects.
Talking to Daily Times, Nousheen Siddique, a successful candidate, said that she was very happy on her achievement. She thanked the government for conducting recruitment on merit. Reshma, another successful candidate, said that she was very thankful to the present government for selecting candidates on purely merit basis. She said that she would deliver whatever skill she had.
SMIC principal Muhammad Ali Shaikh, Additional Secretary Education Riaz Memon and other education department’s officials were also present.
