Ali Zafars new found fame- Abbey Road Studios

After setting his mark in Bollywood, pop icon Ali Zafar has just got another feather in his cap with his upcoming album Jhoom being mastered in world famous Abbey Road Studios, that rendered its services to legendary band, The Beatles in the 1960s. The quartet recorded 90 per cent of their creations at the studio and recorded a continuous string of famous hits for the band.

“My album Jhoom is being mastered at the world famous Abbey Road Studios today. So glad that finally I have nothing left to mix,” tweeted Zafar, who was on cloud nine sharing yet another achievement.

Jhoom is Zafar’s third album and in it he is giving a Sufi streak to his music. The album will also reprise Zafar’s performances for Coke Studio, “Yaar Daddi” and “Dastaan-e-Ishq”.

Talking about his upcoming project, Zafar said Jhoom is “primarily a Sufi album with a couple of love songs. Don’t expect any ‘Channo’ or ‘Masty’.”

The multitalented singer and actor is currently working in his second film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan starring ace Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Imran Khan.

Zafar, who is also contributing his music to the film’s soundtrack, recorded his first song this month. “Recorded my first song for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan today,” Zafar posted on his Twitter page earlier this month.

The studio was made in house number 3 in St John’s Wood which was originally purchased by EMI in 1929 with a vision to transform it in to the world’s first custom built recording studio. More than 30 years later, this studio became a part of history. First issued on the 26th September, 1969 Abbey Road was the final Beatles album to be recorded but not their last to be released.

For the first time on a Beatles album, the front cover contained neither the group’s name nor the album title just that iconic photograph taken on the zebra crossing near the entrance to the studios in London in August 1969.

Abbey Road entered the British album chart at no. 1 in October and stayed there for a total of seventeen of its 81 weeks in the chart and the studio has been known to make history ever since.
