Atrium Cinemas, Pakistan’s First Digital Cinema Experience
Karachi 28th June 2010: A press briefing for the upcoming Atrium Cinemas, A project of Atrium Mall and Mandviwalla Entertainment was held at a local hotel in Karachi recently. The personification behind this event was to announce the arrival of Atrium Cinemas, which will introduce the latest D-cinema or Digital Cinema technology with 3D capability in Pakistan along with introducing the people behind this magnanimous project.
Mr. Nadeem H. Mandviwalla said to the media that future is more towards digital Cinemas and it has more focused on team efforts instead of individual concerns, he also told to press/media that 20 years before single movie release in 22 cinemas at a time but now Karachi has only 29 cinemas; Government of Pakistan has to pay attention towards Pakistani Film Industry for the enhancement of it. Mr. Mandviwalla also elaborated his thought towards the digital cinema that after 5 to 10 year only digital cinema can only survive in this industry.

On this occasion, an animated presentation given to the audience depicting the finished form of the cinemas which are anticipated to start operations later this year. It is claimed by its developers that Atrium Cinemas are going to take the cinema industry of Pakistan in the 20th Century by the introduction of state of the art facilities and also by introducing interactive services with a vision to provide excellence and accessibility to their customers which is not available in other cinema in Pakistan

It is really good to see new cinema halls being set up at the time when the cinema industry struggle to survive. In order to create awareness amongst the masses it would be better for the good management to highlight on the concept of the D-cinema.
We believe D-cinema could be the future. Conventional cinemas still use film projectors and much of the cinemas is still analog. It is a fact that 35 or 70 mm film has a great impact from the time when sound film came into existence in 1929 and still holds charm and grandeur. .
Apart from arrival of D-cinema we all have to protect and preserve our existing cinema halls. We believe the traditional cinema has to upgrade its key components and that is installation of latest sound systems. Nowadays Movie buffs have massive sound systems and large screen displays at their homes and as such the traditional or D-cinema has to be better, otherwise good gentry would not visit the cinemas.
WE must congratulate the operators of the new multiplexes at the atrium mall and wish them every success in return of their investment, but at the same time Traditional single screen cinemas have to be fully protected in all its glory .

Why would we want to see Shahrukh Khan in 3D??? There is a reason why 3D movies only come in action/thriller/horror so that the immersive technology brings an extra thrill. I very much doubt that romantic movies would ever be made in 3D unless you are trying to catch the curvy shadows of the actress only!

great thing about this paki theater is it doesnt require to bring a paki cow with you…. all other stupid paki cenemas does not allow individual to the theater …. “family entry only” wat kinda rule is that …. ????
